Murukku is a favourite for Diwali / Deepavali celebration or any celebration in Malaysia. The word murukku in Tamil means "twisted" and this pretty much describes the shape of this authentic Indian snack which originated from South India and was brought to Malaysia by the Indians who settled down in Malaysia.
